You always want what you can’t have — especially when it comes to beauty products. That’s why we’re getting the inside scoop from your favorite retailers on what’s selling out right now, how to sign up for waitlists, and where to go to find the next best thing. Because if everyone’s buying it, you know it’s got to be good.
If we're going to bother with blowdrying and styling our hair, we want it to last. That's why we take the extra step to prep our damp strands with a heat protectant that's going to tame frizz, boost shine, extend the life of our style, and, of course, reduce damage from the dryer.
Clearly, the rest of the world feels the same way, because just about every hair-care brand has a style-perfecting blowout spray in its product range. However, as you know, not all versions are created equal. So, when the folks at Birchbox told us its stock of Parlor by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray was completely sold out, we weren't surprised — we were intrigued.
The product has over 11,000 mostly glowing reviews on Birchbox's website that detail everything from the product's intoxicating smell to its smoothing abilities. Since speaking with Birchbox a few weeks ago, the retailer's stock of the spray has been replenished, but we're betting it won't last long. Our suggestion: Pick up a bottle while you can, but if you miss your chance to give it a whirl, we've listed a few other blowout-perfecting options that have our seal of approval in the following slides.

Starting on damp hair, evenly mist four to six sprays through locks (You can add more if yours are super thick or long. Use less if you have very short tresses.), gently comb through hair to distribute the product, then blowdry hair as you normally would. Bonus: You can spray a little more product onto dry hair and blowdry the ends to refresh your style throughout the week.
Parlor by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray, $24, available at Birchbox.

This blowdry spray actually helps wick moisture out of the hair, meaning it can cut your blowdry time down significantly. But since the product dries the hair so quickly, you'll have to work just as fast. We recommend rough-drying your hair until it's halfway dry before pulling out your round brush to finish the job.
L'Oréal Blow Dry it Quick Dry Primer Spray, $3.97, available at Walmart.

Evenly distribute this spray through your mid-lengths and ends and blowdry with a brush to protect your hair from heat, boost volume, and amp up texture. How? It contains omega fatty acids, oils, and various other good-for-your-hair ingredients that help to protect while you style.
Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray, $24, available at Birchbox.

This aerosol spray combines a mousse, heat protectant, and texturizer in one. How is that possible? We're not totally sure, but we're definitely on-board with a one-step product. To use, all you have to do is spray through towel-dried locks before blowdrying. Tip: Rough dry for a beachy look or use a brush for a finish that's voluminous and sleek, but still looks lived-in.
Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry, $31, available at Sephora.

Do you flat-iron your locks? This is a great option for you, because it helps to protect hair from temperatures up to 450 degrees. In fact, this lightweight mist provides body, shape, and grip in just a few sprays, making the styling process so much easier.
Living Proof Blowout, $24, available at Ulta Beauty.
