The Teen Choice Awards are back on Fox this Sunday, July 31. This year is sure to be full of fun surprises: Victoria Justice will host, and Justin Timberlake is set to receive the Decade Award. The upcoming broadcast has us reminiscing about our lives 10 years ago — and what our favorite celebrities were like back then, too.
In 2006, George W. Bush was president, Beyoncé's "Deja Vu" was hot on the radio, and female celebrities were partial toward beaded necklaces and girly dresses. Two of the big TCA winners that year? Rihanna and Channing Tatum. (Clearly, some things never change.) Of course, all of these celebs also looked very different back in '06. Proceed through our slideshow for a true Throwback Thursday. Rihanna
The Rihanna we all know and love today is edgy, sexy, and unafraid of a good twerk. But a decade ago, "S.O.S." era RiRi was winning an award as Best Female Breakout Artist — and looking sweet and innocent while doing so. We have to say, we appreciate throwback Ri, but we love Anti Ri.

The Jonas Brothers
In 2006, the Jonas Bros had only officially been a band for a year. Kevin was 18, Joe was 16, and little Nick was just 13. Now Kevin is a dad, Joe is singing about cake by the ocean, and Nick is familiar with um, bacon. Time flies!

Reese Witherspoon
Okay, so Reese really doesn't look all that different — the woman has some great genes! Still, back in 2006, a 30-year-old Reese was snagging an award for Walk the Line and looking rather baby-faced.

We know by now that Miley has come a long way from...well, just being Miley. A pre-twerking, pre-blond Miley was still racking up awards for Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel in 2006. And she did love her mid-aughts accessories!

Remember when Kristen Bell was Veronica Mars? It's hard to believe that was back in 2006 — especially since, honestly, she still looks exactly the same. Now she's a mom in real life and on the big screen, starring in this weekend's new film Bad Moms.

In 2006, Jessica Simpson was the Teen Choice Awards host, alongside Dane Cook. She was also newly divorced from husband Nick Lachey and looking good. We think she should bring back this look!

"We are sistaaaahs! We stay togetha!" In 2006, the Cheetah Girls were still very much together, and this was long before Adrienne Bailon was a host on The Real(and even a year before she dated Rob Kardashian). It's been 10 years, of course, but we would totally be here for a Cheetah Girls reunion.

Ashley Olsen
The Olsen twins have been fashion-forward for some time, but in 2006 The Row was newly formed, and Ashley Olsen's look at the TCAs was fresh-faced and toned down. These days, she's wearing a lot more eyeliner and her hair's a little less fussed over — but she's still just as Olsen.

Ludacris
A decade ago, Luda was still focused on his rap career and had just barely dipped his toe into acting. He was also wearing a diamond chain (like many rappers did) and the button-down meets sweater combo of the mid-aughts. Ah, memories.

This was the year that dancer Jenna Dewan met Channing Tatum while filming Step Up. Ten years later, they have a kid and are the ultimate in #relationshipgoals. It's safe to say 2006 was a good year for the star — and we'd venture to say that somehow, Jenna looks even better now than she did then.
